I use a primax usb colorado 9600 scanner, my pc runs xp sp2. I use Irfanview with the scanner twain software; recently all scans are appearing a pink colour on screen and print out pink also. Is this likely to be a hardware fault or software? any ideas much appreciated, thanks

As far as I know you cannot get driver support for XP for your scanner

Not familiar with that particular scanner, but there should be a setting somewhere to calibrate the scanner. It sounds as though it's not seeing white as white. Have a look on the manufacturer's website for more info on calibration.

you can still post to resolved topics; my resolving the topics was premature; my scans still resemble the colouring of flamingo's, I would wish scans to cover a wider colour spectrum

stevo28, I had the same scanner and have never been able to use it as I was told it is not compatible with XP. Primax became part of Visioneer.

I think you need todip you hands in your pockets, you need a scanner that will work with XP

meshuga

thanks for the info, much appreciated. I've emailed Visioneer; the scanner has been working with xp since 2003 and would like to find out more before hurling the thing out the window!
