Powerpoint moving stills

I recently watched a Powerpoint presentation where still photographs were displayed slowly moving across the screen or very gradually zooming in/out.
Does Powerpoint have these features in it or is this done by additional software?
Thanks in anticipation.

Yes, there are numerous transitions possible within a powerpoint slideshow

click here to find out - it's a free tutorial
"Make text and pictures fly in, bounce, and zoom out using the animation features in Microsoft® PowerPoint®. Apply preset animation schemes, and use custom animation to modify them or create animation sequences of your own."

Thanks hssutton and lotvic for your answers.

This works best using the user-defined tracks combined with an entrance effect, slowed way down. Worth noting that these features only came in with office 2003. Previous versions don't have the necessary paths, or the in and out animation which allows cross fades and the like
