Powerpoint

I am now using Windows XP with Office 2000 Small Business. This does not have Powerpoint, although I do have it on my Office 97 disk. I can run Powerpoint from this CD, but would like to install it on my hard drive. I have copied over powerpoint.exe, ms097.dll and ppintl.dll and it tries to load Powerpoint but fails.
Does anyone have the solution to this problem?

Are you sure? I am running Office 2000 and Powerpoint is definitely one of the applications as well as Access, Excel, Word and Publisher.

A way around it is to create a new folder e.g. Office97 and install Office 97 complete in to that folder. You should then be able to use Powerpoint from the Office 97 app.

Copying over the files is no good. You must install the application.

Can't you just do a customised install of Office 97 and just select Powerpoint?

BTW, if all you need to do is view powerpoint files, downlaod and install the Powerpoint Viewer click here

Many thanks for help to date.
When I try to install Office 97, I get a 16bit Windows subsystem window, stating:

C: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MSDOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

Where next?
