can anyone help? just bought new pc,athlon64..(2 months old) gigabyte mobo, 1024ddr 3200 ram. 120gb sata hd,cdrw/ dvd.rw... did have nvid5200fx gfx , updated to xfx5900xt, message comes up on boot saying "not enough power to graphics card,"have been told by friend that its prob PSU. CHECKED THAT AN ITS 385 WATT.do i need 2 buy new one? & r they easy to fit? wat sort of wattage do you recomend& how much are they?

Look for the biggest you can get. 550 watts should do you fine. here is a selection and prices, pick the show all products tab. p.s. don't worry if it says P4 as these just have extra motherboard connectors.

Fitting a new psu is very simple. the psu is attached with just 4 screws. If you make note of the mother board,ide and floppy connections before you remove it, the change over is very simple.

You need to connect an extra power feed from the main wiring harness to the graphics card.If you dont you will get that message.

Have a look at the card and you will find a socket where one of the spare four pin connectors will attach.Do that and it will work fine---I dont think that your psu is the problem!!
