i have a pci-e slot on my mother board and im trying to put a new power supply in and there is a six pin pci-e plug on the power supply but i dont see anywhere to plug it in , so is it posible to have a pci-e slot and not the six pin pci-e plug in for the power supply?

and, also the power supply that is in the computer now has only a 20 pin plug for the mother board but the mother board has 24 ,what is the differance, and should i use all 24 with the new power supply?

you will only need to use the 6 pin pci e plug if you have a graphic that needs a power supply normally high end cards, to the point about the 20 pin or 24 use what ever is on your current motherboard,so if it has 24 then it needs thisotherwise it will not power up properly.
