I have a spare 160Gb HDD (Pata IDE Sata?) that I want to add to an old PC, I know the ribbon connector is compatible but what about the power to it, is there a spare one in there or will I have to add a new cable. It is a 4 prong connector.

The easiest way is to open the box and have a look! PSUs vary in the number of outlets. If there isn't a spare, you can get doublers from place like Maplins or just off ebay.
