Is Postscript support important on a colour laser?

Further to my post yesterday (click here) on colour laser memory, a friend has suggested that a colour laser without postscript support isn't worth having. I intend to use the printer as a personal desktop laser at home, although I do print DTP type work including photographs. Is Postscript going to be that important?!

My understanding of Postscript is that it is necessary if you intend to send documents or artwork to a commercial printer for a print run.

i use my laser with 144mb memory, and postscript level 3, it's used daily for printing high quality images for screenprinting. i would recommend more memory if you are printing photo's but for running everyday for personal use, you don't need postscript. Nik
