please can someone refresh my memory(I saw the subject in pc advisor recently, but fear someone has already 'nicked ' my copy). Is it possible to leave a message on my e-mail that will automatically send a note to anyone writing to me that I am away for a period of time? C.A.D.C.

Auto Reply

In outlook or outlook express... is the PC connected to exchange srever at your workplace.

If at home will the PC be left on and connected to the internet?

Check your ISP site. My ISP gives the facility to set up an auto-responder with your own message.

Just a note of caution. If you work for a firm then it's useful. But if you work from home or a one-person office you could be giving any burglars valuable info.

As AndySD says auto reply you can set it all up through rules, reply to those who are in the contacts etc.

The spams just get downloaded but will not get a reply.
