Possible conflict with CDRW drive

  coolteentom 16:26 01 Oct 03

About a year ago I bought a CD-RW drive. It worked fine. Since then, I got a virus on my computer, and had to re-install, and moved back from Windows 98 SE, to Windows 98 (first edition). Now, whenever I try and install any software that involves burning CDs, it is fine until I try and put a disk in to burn. Then it just freezes.

However, it is almost fine when their is no burning software on my system -- except, I have found out that it also freezes when I am on certain mulitmedia system settings.

Does anyone have any ideas for the prob??

Also, I have just found on 'System Information' a list of 'Conflicts / Sharing' --

IR 5 - IRQ Holder for PCI Steering
IR 9 - ATI 3D Rage Pro (atir3)

Coolteentom - Sounds like you have missing motherboard drivers, if you know what motherboard you have, do a search for it in Google or such like and try and locate driver update package for it.
