Port problems with RDP

I use Remote Desktop connection to connect to the computer at my shop. However when I try to connect to my home computer, it refuses to connect. I know that Remote Desktop connection uses port 3389 so I told my router at home to forward the port to port 3389 on one of my computers. However, it still refuses to connect. Has anyone got any ideas?

P.S. Both computers have routers and please don't suggest GoToMyPC as I have tried it and several other programs
