Port Forewarding

  geoff47 15:34 01 Mar 08

I am trying to download Ubuntu with Bit Torrent and it tells me I need my ports forewarding, otherwise nothing is downloading.
Whats this all about ?
I am sure I have had no problem before when using the same program.
I have followed links to try and understand, but it all goes right over my head.
Many thanks for any help.

Remember, open ports can be a security risk. Why not download normally? I get a Ubuntu download in about 30 minutes, providing I do it in the morning or late evening on weekdays.

Torrent downloads have tended to leave me with broken Linux OS's.

Thats what I shall do.
I too have had bad downloads with Bit Torrent, and it seems too far over my head to start learnign about port forewarding when I dont need to.
