Hi, I have recently encountered irritating popups and redirections to advertising sites such as winantiviruspro 2007, click here and click here. Any idea how I can stop this from happening.
Thanks, Mike.

Yes, I use Win XP, with Avast Antivirus, Zone Alarm, AD-Aware SE, Spyware Blaster, Spybot S&D, CCleaner and AVG Anti Spyware.

I have also tried VundoFix.

assuming you have run all the scans, do you have a restore point you know to be clean before this lot attacked?

I have tried to do a System Restore, but for reasons unknown, I am told that my system cannot be restored back to the dates I have chosen.

what happened when you tried the fix in Vog's link?

When I ran VundoFix, it came up with 3 items which I removed, but did not resolve the problem.

I don't think that you be able to get rid of this without specialist help.

Download HJTsetup.exe from click here and save it to your desktop. Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop to install the program. Do a system scan and produce a log file.

Go to Malware Removal forum: click here . Register, start a topic and post your HijackThis log. Make sure that you describe your problem by repeating your first post on this thread (ie mention Amaena etc.).

OK, Thanks, I will have to do this later today. Thanks for your quick response.
Mike.
