poor conection with infrared keyboard and mouse...

ive got a cheap Labtec infra red keyboard and mouse set,all was well until this week, its started to be very un responsive

misses out letters when typing and the mouse is judery

ive changed the battries hit the small red connetion switches on the bottom but its not much better
no major changes to my system xp sp2
any ideas

ps took me ages to type this

Hi, personally I don't like infra-red, too restricting in that it needs to all be connected *line-of-sight* ........ However, the only thing I can think of in your case is, are infra-red 'windows' all very clean? - if anyone smokes nearby it is possible that the infra-red lens' need cleaning.

im 4 inches away, i dont smoke
its in clear line of site

its worked fine for months
could i have a trojan virus key logger thingy????

Well, in computing anything is possible - you could try a System Restore back to when it was working properly.
