Pocket PC to Desktop PC via Bluetooth to ISP

My desktop PC uses Dial Up via a 56k modem (broadband not available here yet). I have a usb bluetooth dongle attached, with the WiddCom software, all working well. I have purchased an iPAQ 4150 with bluetooth and wi-fi, but I do not have a wi-fi network. I am trying to configure the ipaq to use the desktop PC's modem to connect to the internet, and although I am able to establish a network connection between the two, I am stumped when I try to connect to the internet, as no connection is made onward from the desktop to my ISP.

My question is twofold:-

(1) Is this possible, if so can someone point me in the right direction.

(2) Will the connection, if made, be of sufficient speed to make the experience worthwhile.

Many thanks, in advance, for your suggestions.
