PM12 TL Motherboard memory upgrade

Remember me? I bought Item 6753000566, DDR266 pc2100 512MB RAM for a friend. When I fitted it last night into a PM12-TL motherboard, it was not recognised. The Users Manual said it required a DDR266 RAM but I removed the original module and it has a label with "PC266 EDS42" on it. I have looked on websites on the net which say it should be a DDR266 so I am confused. You seem to know about these things. Any ideas? Kindest regards, Dan Berry

Yes, I tried it on its own but I only got a long bleep. It has been suggester that the problem is that the new RAM is ECC registered and the motherboard does not support this. I know nothing about EEC registration. Do you?
