Plextor PX712A / NEC 2510A / Sony DRU700UL

Am about to purchase a dvd rewriter just before I do a clean install. Am looking at those in heading.

I have a few questions having looked at the specs and prices. If anyone can help that would be greatly appreciated.

I noticed on one set of specs that multisession was only available on write media. Is this likely to be standard with all these players? Not all the specs mention this.

What is the difference between an incremental and a sequential backup?

I have also noticed references to needing 10GB of free HD space with the Sony and Nero. Is this correct and why is so much space needed? The NEC specs 1GB of free HD space but does not mention the writing software.

Just found the difference between the Plextor 712S and 712SA drives. First is E-IDE (ATAPI) interface, second is Serial ATA interface. I am pretty sure I need the former - how can I be sure before ordering? [Device manager states IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers]
