Please Help - Vista Won't Boot

Hi All,

On Friday night I restarted my laptop and for whatever reason it wouldn't boot.

Vista just gives the following message:

------------------------------
File:\Windows\system32\winload.exe

status: 0xc000000f

Info: The selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or corrupt.
-------------------------------

When I purchased my laptop the manufacturer didn't give me a Vista DVD so I've managed to borrow one off a friend, however running the startup repair program on there doesn't seem to do anything. I left it running for 12 hours and nothing happened.

I am not fussed about losing windows and starting again. It's just that I have all my photos, documents and e-mails on there that I desperately want to save.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Would be so grateful for any advice.

Can you do a system restore in safe mode?

If you can't start up in Safe Mode, might this be some help?
