PLEASE HELP! PCI serial controller

  coolteentom 17:58 01 Jul 03

I have recently loaded a new modem onto the computer, but a window comes up when I start the computer about installing a driver for a PCI SERIAL CONTROLLER. Since I cannot find a location for it anywhere (including the modem CD), I have just left it, and it has an exclemation mark next to it in Device Manager. My modem is working fine, but what should I do about this PCI controller??
Also all my audio programs keep freezing!!

If you have any idea of this problem , please could you reply.

It sounds as though it is one of the controllers for the pci slots, so you should find the driver for it on your mobo driver disk, if you insert your motherboard driver disk into the cd rom and then go to device manager and then expand the tree for the device which is showing the exclamation mark and update driver and then point it to your cd rom it should find the driver that it is looking for.

It also saves you having to explore the disk looking for what you think is the driver because they never seemed to be named in a way so that you know what they are for.
