You mean you aren't using your originals?

Copying discs is very hit and miss. It may be his recorder or software and nothing to do with your equipment.

Have you tried playing your copies back on another machine?

Take the copy into Curry's or somewhere and try it on a few of their DVD players. If it plays on some of them then it's because your Philips DVD player doesn't support that type.

I believe Philips supports DVD+R, so copy onto that type in future.

Thank for advice kinger, but my friend tried them on his dvd player and they where ok so it must be my player time to upgrade. Any advice on what i should be looking for in a new dvd, cheers.

Ronin P703 Multi-Region DVD-Player
I have just bought one of these from at ?53 and it is excellent.
It will play cd,cdrw, dvd and dvdrw. It also plays mp3s and will run slideshows of photos in folders burnt onto a dvd.
