Pioneer 109 problems

I have a drive that has burned 100s of disks but seems to be playing up. When I put a blank disk in it will not register it saying there is not one there. I always use the same disks (Titanium). My laptop burner does register thesame disk. The drive will read commercial disks and backups however. Is it in need of replacement or can I try something else?

the cable is intact inside the case
Is the drive showing in My Computer ? if its not then its most likley failed

I have just had the same problems with my 109, it would read disks ok but burn intermittantly, thats when it was able to read the blank dvd's.

I sent it back and recieved a new pioneer 110 as replacement.

Jimv7, did you send it back to Pioneer?

No, I bought it online from Big Pockets, so they were my first port of call.
