Pictures on Internet Browser not Showing

  Big Trev 22:46 25 May 03

Whenever I open a web page the pictures do not automatically show up. If I right click where the picture should be and click on "Show picture" it appears in seconds.

Using IE 6 and Windows XP SP1

Is there a setting I should change?

Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - Multimedia - Show Pictures

This should be ticked, if not then it could be an unrelated problem. Is it with all sites or just one? Some sites with restricted bandwidth sometimes have this problem.

I have a similar problem to 'Big Trev' which has only arisen within the last few weeks after AOL modified the graphics on their welcome page. AOL helpdesk has not been able to resolve the problem.
Main problems are:
1. Some web pages will not load although box in bottom left hand corner says'Done'.
2. In the case of (1) above there may be just one image or nothing at all.
3. Some web pages load but the graphics are distorted.
4. Sometimes clicking on 'refresh' will get the page up other times a complete page of gobbledegook (to me ) appears.
5. Sometimes if I switch out of AOL to IE6 the page will load.
6. Some pages are perfectly OK
