Picture is fuzzy on my webcam!

  jillybeans 13:53 11 Jan 04

Hello everyone, I am new to this so please excuse my naievity, I have a Terratec webcam and am having problems with the picture, it is very fuzzy have gone through all the tests, I have turned the knob on it to bring it to focus but with nothing, I feel that this perhaps is not working, have been on device manager which says there is no problem.

Can anybody suggest anything!

Thanks very much

Clarity of image depends on the resolution capability of the webcam and ghosting in video depends on how many frames per second (fps) it can transmit. Generally, the higher the better for the above. Maybe nothing wrong just that the two elemnets I mentioned are on the low side.

Webcams are genrally naff at reproducing images unless the images are brightly lit. Even then, the quality is OK at best.

Perhaps you are trying to view it in too big a frame?

I know you mentioned using the focus but the webcams I've had or come across can be focussed by turning the lens.

But it makes little difference as the depth of field is extensive.
