Physical memory dump ?

hi,Just reinstalled the xp os for the third time, I left it on for about an hour to make sure it was ok, the screen went black it rebooted, and a message came up about physical memory dunp, this is doing me in, I have done a search, but none the wiser, could it be the laptop's HDD packing up...

I think that something is wrong somewhere as your XP installaion keeps crashing.

When it does this (by default I think) your PC sends a memory dump to Microsoft in the hope that it will improve it's software but in my view it is a waste of time sending the report.

To turn it off go to Control Panel > System > Advanced > 'Error Reporting' and select disable error reporting but tick the option 'but notify me when critical errors occur'

Sorry but I don't know the answer to your problem though :(
