Photoshop Elements 9

Seeing a few posts regarding PSE9 reminded me of a small problem I've noticed.

If I copy a screenshot 'print screen'. In Word or Paint and my old PaintShop Pro I could either do a CTRL+V or in PSP do a 'paste as new image' operation.

Can't figure out how to load a clipboard image into PSE9!

I do not think PSE9 has this function. Like you, it may exist, but I have not found it. You seem to be able to copy and paste within the application, but cannot do so from an external source.

My workaround, as a Win 7 user, is to use the Snipping Tool, save that as a jpg & open it in PSE. Admittedly, that's a cumbersome process though.

Not sure if this will work for Elements, but photoshop has it's own clipboard and sometimes this can become full and requires purging. This is done by going to "Edit">>"Purge">>"Clipboard".

Worth a try

Glad it's not just me then :-)

Thanks for the input.

Save the Paint image into My Pictures as jpeg. open elements 9 and import the jpeg from the File menu.

I use it this way when, for instance, an error message pops up. Then Imported into E9 and cropped to actual message, disposing of the screen background and saved again.
