A friend of mine sent me something on Photoshop 7. Could it be that I can not open it because I have Photoshop 6?

No. That's not the reason. what extension does it have. Jpeg, tiff bitmap, etc.

In fact it is a .psd (Adobe Photoshop Image).
But I finally got it opened. I saved it onto my computer in "images" but I could not open it. I right clicked on it and saved it with ACD and now I can open it. A bit of a round about way but it got opened. My friend sent me two attachments. I got one opened as mentioned above, but I could not even save the other one on to my computer. I told him to save it in Jpeg next time.
THANKS FOR YOUR COMMENTS.

As you say psd is the native photoshop ext. so this should have opened ok. Pleased you're now sorted.

Jpg is the obvious way to send a photo, unless you're wanting to carry on editing the file, then psd is the one to use
