Should have been a DVD, and finalised - though not all DVDs will play on a TV.

Some times you need to change the format windows uses as default, so that it will work on all devices not just windows pcs. Just before you burn there is a drop down option box to change the format.

I used a CD-R disc

Thanks 'grey george'
I process of burning seemed to be contained in the Windows Movie Maker saving to CD

I use CD-R and have no trouble. Make sure that the disc is finalised. The version of Moviemaker 5.1 for service pack 2 that I use wont do anything other than CDs so DVDs are out. Maybe there is a later version????

As Bagsey says,a cdr will work.

Hello
I am still trying but without success
I have now used a DVD-RW
I formatted it before I began choosing the category which it said should play on all formats
When I came to the 'save the video' I chose the windows 'recommended'
There were other categories but I did not know which one to choose
The disc plays OK on pc but the TV says 'cannot play this disc.'
Any further comments please

PS the program in my link will allow you to make a slideshow of up 36 pictures - however, the paid for version has no such restriction.

So you can try it for free.
