Photoimpact 8 can't communicate with scanner

  Teasle 18:54 01 Jun 05

Today when I have gone to use my scanner I have the following error message 'cannot communicate with scanner. Cable may be discnnected. Check status. scanner driver will be closed' and then 'Error in getting TWAIN data source. Check if device is properly connected to your computer or reselect the device from the Select data source drop-down list'.
Every thing seems ok so I re-installed Photoimpact8 - still no joy. Any ideas what I can do next?
I use W98SE and my scanner is a Cannon LiDE30.

Have you tried uninstalling and then re-installing your scanner software?

Scanner soft ware or USB driver

For scanner uninstall and reboot and reinstall

For driver check- Control Panel/System/Hardware manager- look in USB devices - do you see any yellow wotsits?

Hi there,
Thanks for your responses.
All USB devices look ok - no yellow watsits. I will now re-install my scanner and see if that works.

Thank you. Re-installing the scanner software fixed the problem for me.
All the best to you.
