i'm considering to replace my IBM X40 hard drive for a SSD. and wondering if that's gonna speed up the windows boot up.

i found this on a online shopping in Taiwan.
PHOTOFAST G-Monster 1.8 IDE 64GB

it's around $240, freight i would say around $20
a total $ 260 for a 64GB SSD
it says max read 80MB/s, write 45MB/s
if the figures are true, i would bring me double the performance of what i had now.

do you guys think that this is a good option? worth ?

my mistake, wrong calculation
it should be 120 pounds, and freight 12 pounds
total 132 pounds.

There are some info for your reference(chinese).

The post shows this SSD's performance: read 76.65MB/s, write 33.34MB/s. But, some said that X40 will shows error 2022 when system boot. And, when you open multiple applications at the same time, some delay will occur because the SSD is a MLC SSD, not a SLC SSD.

In general, this SSD's installation in X40 is easy and performance is good.

you may have to pay VAT and import duty on top of that + couriers fee for collecting it.
