Hey there! Purchased a Micro Star 2000 (AMD 1.67 Gig) desktop from PC World 2 yrs ago- not used much. No hardware added recently to desktop, only general software installations. No real reason for it to suddenly give trouble. Turned tower on- nothing on screen. Fan turns on and off intermittently then remains on, but a BIOS single beep(second long) is heard every 5th second. PhoenixBIOS D686 1998. Board model no is MS6382 Can't find this sequence in beep codes on the net.I unplugged all peripherals then tried cleaning the boards and unplugging and reinserting boards etc. Not sure what to do next. Any ideas?
