Permanently delete "My Music" Folder

  Acco 22:40 11 Feb 07

Every time that I try to delete (or rename) My Music folder it re-appears as a sub-directory of My Documents the next time I log back in.

There must be an easy way to get rid of this folder?

Can anyone please help?

Hmmm, why do you want to get rid of it? It is part of Windows and will always return as far as I know.

Windows itself doesn't mind you deleting this folder, and will not try to bring it back, but any other program that expects it to be there can pass a commmand/flag string looking for it, and if it's not there, windows will recreate it. You can adjust this by altering registry settings or using a program such as TweakUI, but to be honest, it's bestjust to leave it's a lot of hassle just to remove a folder

Thanks Techno Tiger.

It's not very important but it's just that I don't like Windows telling me that I must have that folder with that name in that place regardless of whether I want it at all.

Thanks Brundle,

That's done the trick.
