Peripheral Sharing Problem on a Wireless Network

  DROPS1 01:26 27 Jun 03

Having installed the BT Voyager 2000 Home Network, I am having difficulty getting the now secondary desktop to recognise the printer. The printer is connected to the Virtual USB port. I have no problem connecting to the internet on either system.

I have set the the Sharing box within the printer properties, but the problem still persists.

Primary system runs Windows XP Pro, whereas secondary system runs Windows XP Home

Have you installed the printer on the secondary machine? You need to do this selecting the "add printer" then install network printer. Browse should find your printer on the primary.

I have done the same on an Actiontec wireless network and it's fine.

Unfortunately the printer still cannot be seen on the network by the other PC. I have installed the printer on the other pc as suggested but still no joy.

I was wondering if it had anthing to with the fact that the printer is attached to the primary pc by means of a virtual usb port?
