performing an unattended xp install over network

how would i perform an unattended install of xp over a network share ? i've been trying to figure it out to avail. Thought i had it done properly and then it didn't work. I had unattend.bat on a floppy and put it in and it didn't start the unattended install. I also tried doing it from inside the os, by going to run and typing unattend.bat and all it did was run successfully and the cmd window would disappear. But no unattended install?

I'm also trying to learn how to do unattended install for windows 2003 server so if anybody knows any good step by step tutorials with screenshots every step of the way, that would help a lot.

by the way, i've been wondering but how do you check to see if your nic card is pxe compliant?
