At the age of 71 I decided to build my own computer. Everything went smooth as silk but my processor is running too hot {56C is normal but it soars to 70C even if I use the printer. CPU is fitted with the Intel fan straight from the box. Case has only one fan plus fan below PSU. Any ideas would be most welcome. Perhaps I should uninstall CPU, clean it up and try again.

Two ideas;

1. Reset the CPU & Fan

2. Update BIOSas my ASUS was 12 deg out before update

84W is a lot of heat to remove. Maybe some more case fans would be a good idea.

When installing the CPU fan, what type of thermal compound did you use ? pad, grease etc. I personally don't like the pads and use Arctic silver ceramique click here and click here for instructions. They are aimed at this particular product but apply to most other pastes. Remember the less you can get away with the better, all you want to do is fill any surface voids, ladling it on thick is counter productive.
