Peer to peer software not installing on XP

I have tried to install various P2P software on my new PC such as Kazaa, edonkey, bit torrent, audible download manager, lycos rhapsody etc

Non of these programmes will install they download OK then they all freeze when trying to connect to the internet during the installation process.

I have tried turning of all firewalls (Zone alarm and Norton) and reducing internet explorer security settings and non of this has helped.

Any ideas?

Cheers in anticipation.

Richard
