PDF's dont open online

  ventanas 15:05 08 Sep 04

I'm sure this should be simple, but I can't find a setting to cure it. .pdf's won't open when a link in IE is clicked on one of the network machines. Nothing happens at all. No problem with right-clicking and save target.

Grateful for any pointers.

Edit, Preferences, Internet, and check that "Open PDF in browser" is selected.

If view in browser is not enabled the PDF should open in Adobe Reader. Check in Windows Explorer and see if you can open a PDF from there. If not, right-click, open with, and choose program, Adobe Reader.

Tools - Internet Options - Programs - Manage Add-ons. In mine I have AcroIEHlprObj Class and Adobe Acrobat Control for ActiveX, both by Adobe Systems Inc, Enabled.

Thanks, yes it is ticked, and is also on my machine, and I have no problems. There is no problem opening .pdf's from explorer, just by double-clicking them. I see what you are getting at, but its not an association problem.

I will try unticking the box and see what happens.

Thanks again.

No good I'm afraid. Both enabled.
