PDF-Xchange Viewer Missing Menus

I started using the free version of this program after a recommendation on this forum a couple of months ago and found it to be extremely good. I updated it last week and I`ve just noticed that the menu bar now only contains the Help Menu. The File, Edit, View etc have all disappeared. Even the Help menu lacks the former option to Check for updates.

I downloaded the latest version from the website click here and reinstalled but no difference. It is Version 1 (Build 0026) dated 5 October. Anyone else have this problem?

I use this program all the time had no problems with it like you're experiencing, I do remember I had this with Adobe 8, the File, Edit View menu bar would sometimes get blacked out when I had a lot of windows open, never did find out why because I went over to Pdf-Xchange and have never looked back. Uninstalled Adobe as it is bloatware.

All I can suggest is to uninstall, get a fresh download, give the registry a clean and then install new download and hopefully this will cure that problem, otherwise if you have the "report a problem" in the help menu let them know they are pretty good at replying and helping people.

The only menu is the Help and the sub menu only contains "About.." I have downloaded the latest version and that was when the problem started. Could you confirm the version details of your installation for me?

Thanks again - it`s the same version as mine so you are right. It must be something to do with my setup, probably a conflict or registry problem.

Do you keep copies of the PREVIOUS versions of the software? I upgrade from the program itself and then after it has downloaded & installed I go to the tracker software site and download and save it in its zip file to my other HHD, so if thinks go belly up I have a copy in reserve or go to a previous version....if that makes sense.

Yes I have a backup so if all else fails I`ll go back to a previous version. I`ll have a session over the weekend and see if I can sort out the latest version first and if all else fails revert to the earlier version. I won`t mark this as resolved yet just in case I find the solution.
