Why can I download pdf files from some sites but not others? All I get is a blank page with unknown zone at the bottom of the page.

Do you have the latest version of Adobe Reader (version 9.1) - if not uninstall all other version and install the latest one.

Alternatively you could try an alternative pdf reader, such as Foxit.

Downloading a PDF file from a website can sometimes (depending on the size of the file) take quite a while - maybe 60 seconds for a user manual or a catalogue for example. While it's downloading you will see nothing but a blank page, and the download icon at the extreme left of the taskbar.

Possibly you're not waiting long enough?

If after trying DieSse's suggestion above you still cannot download from certain sites, let us know what sites or downloads, we might be able to suggest further.
