My motherboard (A PC Chips M487A) has PCI slots, but can they take a graphics card with a PCI express designation?

As far as I understand it, you can't put PCI-E cards into PCI slots.

No i believe pci - e has fewer pins than standard pci
add the fact that pci - e runs faster i wouldnt have thought you could use pci - e in a standard pci slot

Thankls folks. looks like I need to build my kids machine with a new motherboard

Plus PCI Express needs new drivers and chipset which won't be present on a non-PCI Express Mobo.
