PCI capure card.

I'm in the process of trying to put some old video tapes onto the hard drive of my pc.I'm told that in order to do so,i need a pci capure card, and the relevant software.I know this is a silly question, but how to i find out if my pc already has one of these cards installed. Is there a way of checking this via a hardware check on the actual pc itself,as i can't see anything about this in my pc manual.I'm using an Emachines 770.Thanks.

Have a look at the back of the PC for a connection similar to a TV where the arial fits in.

you have a few options here, your graphics card may have a vivo (video in video out) port on it, or you could use a normal pci capture card, usually supplied with software unless oem, or a tv card usually has more options than most with a host of inputs.
