PC won't start!!

MSI MS-6380E
Athlon XP 2000
512 MB RAM

I built this PC myself. Trouble is that is sometimes will not start. If I unplug the CPU fan (Coolermaster) and leave it out or plug it into one of the other power connectors in the MB it will start. Then if I plug the connector back into the correct connector it sometimes starts but at other times it will not!! The problem is intermittent.

I'm guessing it is either a faulty fan or MB. Any ideas?

sound as if there's a fault on one or the other. Have you got another fan that you could try? That would eliminate the fan as being faulty, and point to the m/bd., which does seem to be the likely candidate.
