PC Won't settle down

Hi all

My PC starts up, thinks about it, shows the black boot screen, re-starts, thinks again, then it just repeats the process. Ran HP's own doctor check, it scanned the hard drive, motherboard, memory etc, returned no errors. I do not have the original Windows disk.

Any ideas please?

Thanks.

Have you tried System restore or last good configuration in safe mode if it starts.

Hi

Yea, done all that, safe mode, ran antivirus in safe mode, PC is stable in safe mode, but after re-start, safe mode screen all over again, then the PC ends up in a re-start loop.

uumm?

Maybe try device manager and see if any yellow exclamation marks beside any of the drivers.
Try safe mode with networking see if that works ok.
Did you try a system restore to a time when it was working ok.

If a desktop make sure the air vents are clear of fluff and dust.if so inside will also need cleaning.
