In Control Panel, Power Options I have set the Power Scheme to 'Home/Office Desk' Monitor off after 2 minutes, hard disks off after 5 minutes and system hibernates after 30 minutes inactivity, the whole thing then powers off. When I switch it back on it gives the impression of recovering from hibernation with the bar across the bottom of the screen but then screen remains blank/black and I have to press re-set button to get system to boot as it normally does. Running XP Pro. Any clues as to what may be wrong. Thanks

You could try disabling Hibernation, rebooting and then enabling it again to see if that fixes the problem.
