Hi, Been going around the houses on this one. PC is currently using as standard 62% of RAM according to Task Manager. Over 50% is used by "System". When running FSX with high density scenery I always get OOM. This has only occurred in past month or so and the only thing that has changed in that time is a new MOBO because previous on was faulty - same MOBO. PC is Intel i7 4990K at 3900mhz. ZOTAC GTX760. Kingston Hyperx Beast 2 x 8GB RAM. Windows 8.1 Update. Have been through the process of killing processes to basic in Task Manager and it has reduced RAM Useage to about 58% but still not enough left for FSX. Happy to buy more RAM if that would solve problem but very expensive so want to be sure that insufficient RAM my problem. Operating System on SSD, programs on separate SSD, FSX on its own SSD. Grateful for any advice.

Check if you have IntelliMemory installed. Seems to create this problem, see the comments here, click here.

In task manager under Performance tab, click on resource monitor. Under memory it shows iexplore.exe using most resource, 228,200 KB under working set for me and system using only 36KB. You might get a clue from there.

Are your drivers up-to-date? One thing to try is to disable SuperFetch and Windows search in services for now. See if that makes any difference.
