PC shuts down when booting off XP Home CD

I'm trying to walk a friend through recovering her system by booting from the XP disc but she reached a point that I can't understand over the phone. So I tried to do it on my PC to see what she was talking about but for some reason my PC shuts down after it loads all the core files. Doesn't reboot just shuts off. I've never seen this happen before and I seem to be having trouble finding any info on it, if someone could give me something to go on, it'd be appreciated. If it helps I'm running a shuttle AN50 w/ a AMD Athlon 64 3000+ and 512MB PC3200 that is otherwise problem free. If you need more info just let me know.

Sounds like windows protection... incompatible driver or something.
Bootlog.txt might help point to the problem.

Good luck

So, it makes a log even if it's going through the motions of setup? I know of the file you're talking about but haven't ever had to look at it in XP. Ive looked for the file and I can't locate it. Would it be anywhere else besides the windows folder or perhaps a different filename and/or ext? I searched for it with wild cards and I can't seem top locate it anywhere.

I believe it makes a log at install.

I appreciate the help but that didn't do it either. The setuplog file I can find only has info in it from when I reformatted my system last may.
