PC Shuts Down

My desktop powers off just as it boots from Windows (XP) into the desktop. Press the power button and it does the same again.
Thought I'd try and see if it boots OK into Safe Mode but it is a wireless keyboard/mouse and these don't appear to become active until the boot is nearly finished. Can try 2morrow with hardwired kbd/mouse but any ideas in the meantime?

It sounds as if there is something running at start up thats causing it to shut down, it could be software or hardware, what external hardware devices do you have plugged in?
If you have any try plugging them out one at a time and see if it is hardware causing the problem, it could even be the USB K/b and mouse.
If this doesn't work then I'd wait until I had a wired k/b mouse and try other solutions tomorrow
