When I start my Notebook up I have it Passworded so that no one can get into windowsXP unless they know the pw. I also have the the desktop pc start up more or less the same way. Winodws is also passworded BUT
my notebook also displays my Postcode. what I want to know is. Also have firewalls and Virus s/w

1. Is this enough security &
2 can I get any other locking down software free or otherwise?

Normally this wouldn't be an issue, my three daughters have full access to anything we have BUT I'm about to move house and set up yet another wireless network incorporating my mother in law. and my husbands VERY NOSEY sister.

Windows XP is quite secure, you can set access and permissions in user / group policies.

When you set your wireless network you can use the built in encryption.

If your really paranoid then you can lock files and folders Encryptors / Security:-
