pc reboots on its own

For some reason my xp pc is rebooting on its own.Its xp 2.4 with 1048mb ram any ideas plz

Right-click on My Computer, click Properties, click the Advanced tab. Under Startup & Recovery click Settings. Under System Failure untick the box in front of Automatically restart.

The next time it crashes you should get an error code and a message on a blue screen. Post those here.

is the cpu overheating, as this what they do if they overheat. it is a failsafe to prevent damage to the chip. check to see if the cpu fan is working.
