PC Random Switch Off

Right people, basically my PC randomally switches off and powers down. I've changed PSU, Case, Motherboard, Heatsink/Fan and RAM.

It happens whenever I try to install Windows at a certain point or play some games. I think it may be the graphics card or CPU. I can use the Internet fine or do things on the desktop.

The pins on one of my hard drives are a bit out of shape as they got damaged during an upgrade. I have to unplug the PC at the pluug on the wall before it will power back up.

My specs are:

AMD Athlon XP 1700
768mb PC2100 Crucial DDR RAM
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro 128mb
ASUS A7V333 Socket A Motherboard
Onboard C-Media Sound Card
52X Mat*!@:a CDROM
D-Link 10/100 PCI Network Card
17" CTX Monitor
20gb Maxtor Hard Drive
20gb Fujitsu Hard Drive
4D Optical Mouse
Windows Keyboard

Is your PC overheating?

Check the CPU and mainboard temp.

Is the PSU faulty?

Has windows a error in error log for the time it powered down?

Is it a memory fault?

It could be any, some people on here will be able to suggest ontesting these, but I use software which is not free, sorry.

PS. You could try SiSoft sandra, do a search on Google, for the free version.

Or ADIA32.

Its not a PSU as I have tried two, the CPU and memory temp are fine and there is no Windows errors.

Ummm, Very odd, have you checked for a virus?

To tell you the truth an old system of mine running 98 does the same, never got to the bottom of it yet.
