PC not shutting down

Wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction.
I'm running Win2K pro, and recently the PC started to stay on with the typical Win blue desktop colour and not shutting down. Although Windows tells me that it is/has shut down?

Where should I look to find out why my system isn't closing down?

Have you gone to the windows update site and installed all the recent critical updates ? If not I would suggest doing so.

Do you have SP3 installed on your PC ? If not goto click here here you will find half way down the page a link to download SP3 which fixes lots of known errors with Win2ooo Pro.Try the patch and if it doesn't solve anything you can uninstall it if you wish.
