PC not recognised by Broadband Modem

Engineer connected AOL Broadband modem this morning but then broadband install CD wouldn't progress beyond network adaptor stage. Spoke AOL helpline and after five hours of discussion and tests was told that the modem is OK but that my PC isn't conecting with it. On "winipcfg" the IP Addresses are all zeros.

Any advice on how to cure the problem with my PC?

Which version of windows are you using? version of AOL. Is it the Voyager 100 and how is the modem connected to the PC?

Try for AOL.

Thank you for your mail, but always better to post back to the thread so that others can see and help.

Via mail

I am now on AOL 8.0 and the PC is connected to the modem via a USB connection. The Midem is the AOL Broadband 120 MAC 00.02.8A.00.3A.BC. My Gateway PC has 512 mb RAM with an Athlon 700mhz processor. My operating system is W98SE. Any ideas? Pasco

Have you tried the suggestion by [email protected]@m above and entered the address into your modem manually? Also found this bit of information regarding the message you are seeing on your PC.

click here give the link a short period after clicking to direct you to the M/S site. See if this helps and please let us know how you get on. just reply to this thread though and others will see what the problem is and also what has been tried to cure it.
